How nail techs & beauty pros get booked from Instagram

For most independent beauty pros, Instagram is the shopfront. But there's a big difference between an account that gets likes and one that fills your diary. The good news: closing that gap is mostly about removing friction, not posting more.

1. Put a real booking link in your bio

This is the single biggest lever. If someone has to DM you, wait for a reply, agree a time and then remember to show up, you'll lose a chunk of them at every step. A "Book now" link that shows your services, prices and live availability lets a client book at 11pm on a Sunday without you lifting a finger.

Every extra step between "I want this" and "it's booked" costs you clients. Aim for one tap.

2. Make the first line of your bio do a job

Your bio isn't a place for mystery. Say what you do, where you are, and what to do next — for example: "Gel & BIAB nails · Livingston · Book below 👇". Clear beats clever. People decide in seconds whether you're the right person and how to book.

3. Turn DMs into bookings, gently

You'll still get "how much for a full set?" DMs — that's fine. Answer warmly, then point them to the link: "It's £30 for a full set 💕 you can grab a slot here: [link] — can't wait!". You're being helpful and removing the back-and-forth. Save a couple of these as quick replies so it takes seconds.

4. Post content that leads somewhere

  • Before-and-afters — the most persuasive content you can post. Always end with a call to book.
  • Availability stories — "2 slots left this Friday 👀" creates urgency and reminds people you're bookable.
  • Behind-the-scenes and reviews — build trust so first-timers feel safe booking.
  • Add your booking link as a story sticker so it's tappable, and pin it in your highlights.

5. Be consistent, not constant

You don't need to post every day. A few strong posts a week, plus regular stories showing your work and your availability, keeps you in the feed and in mind. Batch a week's content in one sitting so it doesn't take over your life.

6. Ask happy clients to tag and review

A tag from a happy client puts you in front of their friends — the warmest new audience you can get. Make it easy: a little "tag me and I'll share it!" at the end of an appointment goes a long way. Reviews do the same job for people who find you cold.

None of this needs a marketing budget — just a clear path from your profile to a booked appointment. Set up a booking link, put it everywhere, and let your work do the selling. (Veluma gives you that link free, plus a marketplace listing so new clients can find you beyond your followers.)
